Write for us

We welcome original proposals that help readers understand how ideas, skills and traditions endure or change. Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option.

What makes a strong pitch

Offer one clear subject, a specific question and a brief account of what readers will understand by the end. A useful pitch has a distinct angle, enough context to make the subject legible and a scope that can be handled without inflated claims.

Topics and approach

We are interested in enduring ideas, shared knowledge, traditions, adaptation and everyday inheritance. We value precise explanation, respectful treatment of cultural differences and a clear distinction between what can be shown and what is interpretation. Do not send confidential material or present unsupported claims as fact.

How to propose a piece

Send a short outline, the intended reader and a little context on your approach through the Contact page. Proposals are not guarantees of publication. Please do not submit a complete article unless requested.
